What To Expect
You might be wondering what to expect when you come to one of the services at Lighthouse (Sunday at 10:00am and Wednesday at 7:00pm). Here are some answers to make your first time here as enjoyable as possible:
What should I wear?
You will see a variety of types of dress at Lighthouse. Just know that we welcome you to worship with us in whatever you feel most comfortable and respectful.
How do I get there?
Check out our "how to get here" page
Where do I go once I'm at the church?
As you pull onto our property watch for one of our Parking Lot Team members so they can direct you to our "First Time Guests" spots near the front door.
Just inside the main doors you will receive a welcome booklet that tells you more about the church and includes a gift card for use after the service. Our team at the Information Center are able to answer any questions and direct you to where you want to go.
You can also check out our campus map.
Where do my kids go?
If you bring your family, you may want to get your kids settled into their classes before the service begins. A greeter in our lobby will help you get to the right area whether you have infants, preschoolers, or elementary aged kids.
All of our classes are age appropriate, safe, and staffed by background-checked teachers! There are room for infants up to 48 months at every service. For 4-years old through 6th grade there are classes during the Sunday morning services and Wednesday evening services. Please feel free to bring your kids into the service to worship together as a family.
On Sundays those in 7th grade and above worship with their parents in the main sanctuary. They do, however, have age-specific meetings each Wednesday at 7:00 pm.
All of our children's volunteers have been fingerprinted, screened, and trained to help your kids learn about God in a safe and fun atmosphere.
What happens during the service?
Each service is designed to engage people whether it's your first time or you've been a member for a long time. We seek to lead people to worship and lift up the Father while seeking wisdom from Him. It's a time to refuel and recharge.
The first part of our services involves cutting edge praise and worship music and singing. We believe that our worship should be vibrant and intimate, demonstrating outwardly what God has done inwardly. If you look around you will see various forms of worship, such as hands being lifting and waved, people jumping and dancing, and (at times) crying as they become connected to God. We believe praise and worship is the entry into the "Holy of Holies" and prepares for the receiving of the Word later in the service.
Our lead pastor, Paul Owens, preaches the Word of God with fervency and zeal. You will find the messages to be challenging and life changing. He has a passion to see people encounter God through the preaching of the Word.
Should I put money in the offering?
God asks us to give of our resources joyfully to Him. At Lighthouse we believe God's blessings are tied to obedience. The act of submitting to God with our tithes and offeringsis an act of worship that shows obedience to His Word. Although we believe your gifts are seeds that return God's blessings to you, we don't want anyone giving out of guilt or obligation.
What do I do when the service is over?
We encourage you to spend as much time as you desire in the altar to connect with God. Afterwards, stop by the welcome table as you leave the sanctuary doors. In your welcome packet you will receive a card redeemable for a gift. Enjoy drinks and snacks with your family and hopefully make some new friends! Most people like to hang out in the foyer after the service to talk, catch up, and meet people.
We hope you’ll come back again as often as you like. At Lighthouse we value a weekly time of worship and we’d love to see you every week! When you’re ready for your next step, keep an eye on our bulletin or our events calendar for our many varied activities for your family.
